What is Melanoma?
One of the most serious types of skin cancer is Melanoma. It develops in melanocytes which are responsible for melanin production. Although the exact cause of melanomas is still unclear, experts opine that over-exposure to UV radiation or tanning lamps may increase the risk of developing melanomas.
Women under 40 are usually in the risk zone of getting melanomas. It is crucial to know the warning signs and symptoms of skin cancer in order to detect and treat them before they spread. Melanoma is often treatable when detected at an early stage.
