Surgical Treatments

Surgical treatments are and effective and easy solution for many benign and malignant skin conditions. The treatment of skin cancer, such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, is commonly achieved with surgical excision. Our experienced board-certified dermatologists can also remove growths, cysts, or lesions with surgical excisions. Most procedures are minimally invasive and performed under local anesthesia.

  • Mohs surgery is ideal for high-functioning areas such as hands and feet
  • Surgical excision
  • Mohs micrographic surgery

What is Melanoma?

One of the most serious types of skin cancer is Melanoma. It develops in melanocytes which are responsible for melanin production. Although the exact cause of melanomas is still unclear, experts opine that over-exposure to UV radiation or tanning lamps may increase the risk of developing melanomas.

Women under 40 are usually in the risk zone of getting melanomas. It is crucial to know the warning signs and symptoms of skin cancer in order to detect and treat them before they spread. Melanoma is often treatable when detected at an early stage.
